Re: The future

Hi Karan,

this is a good platform for your future. You have several options:

1. Do a Master of Engineering (Network Engineering) like the one offered at http://www.rmit.edu.au/sece

2. Do more industry qualifications and aim for specialised knowledge

3. Do a Master of Business Administration - this will help you move into management in the future

4. Do a project management qualification such as the PMP and this will help you become a team and project manager

It is always good to try to get as many qualifications done as you can whilst you are young and have the time to commit.

regards, Mark

Re: The future

Hi,

That was one of the best answers; I have ever got, pretty straight with lot of choices.

You would be happy to know that I have just been promoted to Team Leader for Technical Services. Which opens more doors, I guess.

You have mentioned about PMP qualification which sounds really good. I have also looked at CAPM qualification.

Just curious, MBA in Information Systems is it somehow related to PMP or CAPM.

What would you suggest me now? As I have given you my educational and employment background.

Being a team leader is it actually opened more doors for me. Or my options got narrowed.

What would you suggest me now?

I hope you would do the best as you have done so far..!

Regards,

Karan

Re: The future

Hi, your options for the future do not change, it is where you want to go that matters. You can aim for management and do a MBA, or aim for a project management role by doing a PMP or equivalent university postgraduate degree or another industry qualification. There is no single best solution. It is a choice that you should make though when you are young and start doing study to take you to the next level in your career.

regards, Mark

Re: The future

Hi Mark,

What do you think about ITIL? I have learned about ITIL from my friend?

If you can highlight more about it, as you have indicated I can go for MBA or PMP.

I would like to move to management but not exclusively.

If it is good for future, where can I get training or resources about ITIL?

Probably in Aussies, you may have more resources but any idea about NZ?

Regards,

Karan
