Re: The future

Hi,

The future is definately looking rosy for people who move into network engineering. There is a real shortage of trained people, especially engineers. Growth will continue for many years to come as we are yet to see the true effects of VoIP, digital TV, digital Radio, video on demand and so on.

If you get a good degree from a respected University after you complete your TAFE program, even if you do it part-time, you will have a solid foundation for a good future.

regards, Mark

Re: The future

Hi Karan,

I assume from your post that you have done the CCNA and do not have an undergraduate network engineering qualification. You could consider enrolling for an undergraduate qualification part-time and over time you would gain a solid qualification that would assist your career.

Network engineering qualifications offered by equipment providers, such as Juniper, Nortel and Cisco are certainly going to help your career. These qualifications compliment your experience and provide a pathway to future industry opportunities.

regards, Mark
