Re: The future

Hi Karan,

ITIL is an online effort to provide a library of information for people who work in IT. It is good material in general. I know that Massey University has an engineering school and may have an appropriate Masters degree for you. Most Universities run MBA programs so you could choose one near your location. PMP is an industry qualification and you sit the exam online I think through a service provider so look for organisations that offer PMP near you.

regards, Mark

Hi Karan,

this is a good platform for your future. You have several options:

1. Do a Master of Engineering (Network Engineering) like the one offered at http://www.rmit.edu.au/sece

2. Do more industry qualifications and aim for specialised knowledge

3. Do a Master of Business Administration - this will help you move into management in the future

4. Do a project management qualification such as the PMP and this will help you become a team and project manager

It is always good to try to get as many qualifications done as you can whilst you are young and have the time to commit.

Hi uanmi, I´m an electronic engineer with CCNA and in the path to CCSP looking for a networking master degree in australia. I´ve read your posts about RMIT network engineering program and I will like to know :

1. This program is recognized by its quality in the networking media in Australia? ( Companies, Universities and network products manufacturers )

2. Is there any option to continue with an MBA  after finishing the networking master in RMIT or what will be your advice if  I want to do this "dual" degree?

Finally, I would like to know if there is any other networking program in Autralia that you can suggest to me.

Thanks,

Re: The future

Hi,

The RMIT University degrees are supported by Juniper, Nortel, Dimension Data, Cisco and others. We have led the way into this new field of engineering and I have heard directly that other universities are introducing network engineering degrees next year. RMIT University has always been a leader in the telecommunication / networking fields. You can do the MEng followed by a MBA. I do not know of a "double degree" at postgraduate level, so you would probably have to do the degrees one after the other. If you are looking for a career in telecommunications management then your idea is a good one.

regards, mark
