Next step
Hey guys its me again, ive just finished my Diploma of IT Networking at TAFE, and was wondering what should be my next step.

1: Get CCNA - start work - Get CCNP

2: Do Bachelor Degree in Networking - CCNP

ive heard that uni degrees arent important in the networking field, but that the certifications such as cisco and MS are better

Im really confused and i ask for your advice :)

Re: Next step

The question you need to ask yourself is are you in a situation where you may be able to complete a degree? If so then this is the best approach. You would get some exemptions for the Diploma and this would be an advantage. Remember that whilst there is a lack of trained people today, tomorrow there may be a glut. At that time those with degrees will be able to position themselves in the best jobs at the best wages.

If you do start a degree program remember you can get a job and work in the industry at the same time. This is always good to do.

regards, Mark
